Middletown resident Frank Recchia was last seen on Thursday, Oct. 3 on surveillance video walking in New Haven. He’s also been spotted in Durham and Hamden, though it has been weeks since anyone has reported any sightings.
His daughter, Bunny Rodriguez, said in a news conference in Bridgeport this week that she “hopes he’s with a family that took him in. I hope he didn’t get any farther than New Haven.”
Recchia was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and has rectangular eyeglasses. He is approximately 5-foot-11 and weighs about 150 pounds. A Silver Alert was issued for him Monday, Oct. 7 by the Middletown Police Department, which says it has no new leads and lacks the resources to continue a full-scale search.
"Today we searched in the rain," Rodriguez said. "Today I am happy for the support and for people with me so I do not have to do this alone. These are the moments to take in and remember that we are doing our very best to come together as humans to search and share this journey."
The family is planning to hold a press conference in New Haven on Friday, Nov. 1 to provide an update about "new assistance (they) are about to receive" in the search for Recchia.
Anyone who believes they may have seen Recchia, or has information on his whereabouts has been asked to contact Det. Jimmy Lacasse at the Middletown Police Department by calling (860) 638-4134.
